"According to philsouvenirs, the Philippine jeepney was derived from the GI jeep brought by the American Soldiers during the World War II.
It has the same stong engine as an Army jeep but with a body that has been remodelled to commuting passengers that normally range from 20-30 (personally I think 30 is an exaggeration, unless people sit at the top of the jeep.)
